Coming Home!

Hello! Happy Monday-Off-From-School! Oh, it's just the most wonderful time of the year. And we get tomorow off too! I elected to spend this fabulous four-day weekend traveling, first to DC for the Rally To Restore Sanity/Fear [with John Stewart and Stephan Colbert]! However, there were far mor people there than anyone anticipated, estimates are in the millions, so we [Father and Foreighn Exchange Student] culd'nt get anywhere near where the action was. So we wandered all tourist-y about Washington DC. As Forrest Gump would say, "I'm glad we were here in our nation's capitol." So that event was all peas an' carrots, we visited the varous memorials and statues, took the Metro to and from DC [we parked in Maryland], and went into the Smithsonian Museam of Craft, which features amazing woodturning art, beautiful paiontings, astonishing sculpture, and all-around magnificence. Here are some pictures!

This is a nice building, looks very official. :)

This is a pretty neat statue we saw. The people were 3x lifesize!

The White House! [Obama wasn't there]
The Smithsonian Museam of American Craft!

The Lincoln Memorial from a distance.

The Washington Monument in the reflecting pool.

Mr. Lincoln himself! The monument was very moving.

Women of WWII monument.

So, coming home from DC, we decide to stop by New York. We didn't get out of the car, but we got some pictures anyway!
This is a sign for the broadway musical American Idiot. Ooo, I wish I could go!

This is a statue from Times Square. Pretty cool, n'est pas?

I read a book where this place is where everything happened. Nice to see it as real, even if the book was entirely fictional.

Woo! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One out November 19th!

Cool lookin' bridge we stopped near.

A few of the very many tall buildings. I liked the architecture of teh oe on the right especially.

Half of a Big Apple Sign

And thus ended our trip [I fell asleap, we got home]
